Registered Marriage and Family Therapist Intern
The relationships that connect us, shape us, guide us, and drive us are significant in more ways than one. Such significant aspects of our lives deserve to take up space outside of our normal routines. I place high value on relationships with my clients as well as the relationships in my client’s lives. I deeply recognize the significance of relationships because we are all connected.
How I can relate
I am a mother, a wife, a sister, a daughter, a granddaughter, a friend, a colleague; all roles that have prepared me to work in this field. I entered the workforce after graduating with my Bachelor’s Degree in 2015, which preceded a work history of food service, data entry, customer support, management, medical billing and coding, and fashion. This vivacious experience has provided me the opportunities to work with a diverse array of people. I embrace the imperfect human that I am, who is very self-aware that relationships are my thing.
Through my experiences, I have found a passion for working with children, couples, and families, as we all play a role in the relationships that make up our worlds. I approach therapy from the seat of an observer, and I often empathetically share these observations with my clients. I am a strength-based therapist. So, my observations are often warm and empowering. I believe my client already holds the key to the treasure chest, with some guidance, let’s unlock it together!
Areas of Specialty (What I do best)
I have experience working with most ages. I specialize in working with children, through utilizing many play therapy techniques and relating to them in their language: play. Children are often the center of our families and I find it very important to engage children in the process of therapy. As a systems thinker, I prioritize parent engagement in my work with children.
I work with parents, couples, and families to cultivate and strengthen their connections while developing strategies to improve relational dynamics. I have experience working with a wide array of families as I recognize that families can take on many different shapes and sizes. I would be thrilled to invite you into my office.
My Education and Training
My love of relationships drove me to pursue higher education in Marriage and Family Counseling. I achieved my Master and Specialist Degrees in Marriage and Family Counseling from the University of Florida in 2023. I have training in trauma, working with children and adolescents, anxiety and depression, and Neurodivergences such as Autism and ADHD.
I am a registered Marriage and Family Therapist Intern in the State of Florida, in pursuit of full Licensure, under supervision.
